Intermedia message event is received but not consumed

$

Dear experts,

we have an intermedia message event in a process, which is (according to BPM monitoring) received by the process, but not consumed. In other processes the intermediate message is received and consumed correctly.

How can this happen?

We are using version 7.30 SP8.

David

Deleting the Deployed BPM in PI

Hi Experts,

I need to delete the current deployed BPM in PI, and re-develop as I want change the naming of Software component and product.

Current I developed  BPM with mulpile processes for each requirement, which I would like separate to make any changes independent AS I THINK WE CAN ONLY BUILD AND DEPLOY COMPLETE PRODUCT.

We are using release NW 7.31 SP06 as part of PO(PI+NW BPM).

Appreciate your responses on how to achieve above with any alternatives.

Thanks,

Hussein

Is it true that NW BPM does not support message attachments?

Greetings!

I just found this blog:

Differences between ccBPM(Integration Process) and NW BPM

http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2012/08/02/differences-between-ccbpmintegration-process-and-nw-bpm

I found that "NW BPM does not support message attachments" whereas ccBPM does at the bottom of the comparison list.  In other words, we were able to use ccBPM to pass an attachment from asynch file to SOAP response, however, now in NW BPM we are not able pass an attachment?  That doesn't make sense ... I thought NW BPM works with web services using SOAP envelopes which can support attachment

Is it true that NW BPM does not support message attachments?

Limit type of tasks in SAP BPM UWL substitution rules

$

Dear experts,

we have several BPM processes and are also using ESS in a central Universal Worklist. When the users create substitution rules for BPM they need to choose the option "All" in the "Assign these tasks" field to define substitutes for BPM tasks. Unfortunetaly these rules are active for all BPM and non-BPM processes.

Is it possible to enhance Universal Worklist so that different substitution rules for different processes (ESS, all BPM Processes or certain BPM processes) can be maintained separately? At the moment it's a all-or-nothing decision.

We are using version 7.30.

Best regards,
David

P.S: Find the attached screenshots of the error.

Hello Friends,

I am trying to create my first Business Process in CE 7.2 Trial Version and getting the below error:

"No Preloaded data.Refresh the development Configuration. In the context menu of the Process Composer........."

I have tried every possible solution to overcome this error, but the try went in vain.

The following are the ways i tried:

  • Project ----> right click ----> Modeling Infrastructure ----> Development Configuration.
  • go to "Help > Software Upadates > Find and Install ..."
  • By changing the path of IDE.
  • By reinstalling the NWDS.

But the issue continues. In the NWDS, it is allowing me to create a project but not allowing me to create a process the first step in BPM.

Is there any solution for this error or any step that I am missing out??

Please kindly help find a solution for this issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Shumana Roy.

executing BPM tasks from Portal

Good day!

I have a problem with execution BPM task in Portal system.

BPM was installed on  PI server (Process Orchestration) and was configured. Task was successfuly received from BPM to UWL Portal system.  I try to execute BPM task from Portal UWL, but I have not enough permissions

I found information that portal user should have BPEM End User role. But we don't have this role in our Portal system. What should we do? Should we install some additional components on our Portal system?

Best regards, Nataly

"SampleTimerServiceGroup" already assigned to a provider system

Hello All,

I am getting below error while trying to deploy BPM on PO server:

Service Group "SampleTimerServiceGroup" is already assigned to a provider system, therefore it is not possible to add XI Service References to it. In order to do that you need to remove the assignment in NWA.

I cross checked that this service group is not present inside BPM but not sure why above error is coming while deploying BPM.

So can anyone please help me on the same?

Thanks

Hello @ll,

currentlywe are testing BPM with Web Dynpro ABAP and I havethe problem thatmy BPM Task isnotcompleted.

I've debug my Web Dynpro ABAP Component and the trigger event (for Completion Event in the task) works but my

BPM Task don't finish and it's still in my User Working List (Inbox).

I had used this tutorial: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25436

and all requirement are met: SAP Note: 1442668

I configured Inports and Outport on my Web Dynpro CHIP with following TAG:

Inport TAG: CHIP_CONTRACT:PROCESS_STEP_START_POINT

Outport TAG:  CHIP_CONTRACT:PROCESS_STEP_END_POINT

2013-06-27_155047.png

JAVA Log Files (Developer Trace) are empty and I'm sure that my completion event don't arrive my BPM Process Task.

My Question:

I'm not sure, but I needan HTTP connection between SAPERP (AS ABAP) and SAP BPM (AS JAVA)? Is that my problem?

Please could somebody help me.

Thanks a lot.

Using BAdIs to Anonymize User Information in Process Observer (POB)

$

Dear community,

Data privacy may be a requirement when creating logs of you business processes. In this blog post I want to give some samples how you can anonymize user information using available BAdIs of Process Observer for Built-in Processes. In previous posts of the series, an overview and a description of the architecture of Process Observer are given.

First, let me introduce the BAdIs for manipulating logging data that are available for Process Observer:

data_minip_badis.png

BAdIs for BOR Event Processing only (green):

  • Mapping of Business Object Repository Events to Tasks (POC_INSTR_MAP_EVT_TASK): You can use this BAdI to extend the mapping of Business Object Repository (BOR) events to tasks. The default mapping uses the information defined in Customizing for ‘Maintain Business Object Repository Instrumentation’

  • Enrichment of Task Event Data (for BOR Events) (POC_MAIN_BA_EVENT): You can use this BAdI to enrich task event data for BOR events by using the customer includes provided in the interface structures.

BAdIs for Processing of all Events [including events via direct event API] (red):

  • Enhance/Split Tasks (POC_MAIN_TASK): You can use this BAdI to enhance orsplit tasks. The BAdI is executed before the determination of the process definition or instance take place. [Not available in all SPs.]

  • Enrichment of Task Log Data (POC_MAIN_BA_LOG):You can use this BAdI to enrich process log data before it is written to the process log. You can either write additional data to fields you add to the customer includes provided in the interface structures for the process log, or you can trigger the update of own tables from this BAdI.

Practically all of these events can be used to anonymize (or manipulate) process observer data that gets logged in the process log. In our example, we are using the 'Enrichment of Task Log Data BAdI' (POC_MAIN_BA_LOG) because it works for all events (BOR and direct), and because process definition mapping has already
taken place. So we can implement different anonymization strategies for different process definition (or business areas).

The business area concept was introduced to allow the grouping of process definitions, for example, to handle process definition similarly in BAdIs. Business Area information is available in the BAdI interfaces. Business Areas can be defined in Customizing for Process Observer (transaction POC_CUSTOMIZING):

bus_area_cust.png

A business area is then assigned to a Process Definition (header):

business_area_in_modeler.png

Example 1:

In the first example, you may just want to replace all SAP dialog users with a String ‘SAP dialog’ instead of logging the actual user ID. Therefore, the method IF_POC_BA_LOG_ENH~ENRICH of BAdI POC_MAIN_BA_LOG is implemented as follows:

METHOD if_poc_ba_log_enh~enrich.

* data definitions

FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_ba_log> TYPE POC_T_BA_LOG_DB.

DATA ls_logondata TYPE bapilogond.

* anonymize user data

LOOP AT ct_ba_log ASSIGNING <fs_ba_log>.

    CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL'

EXPORTING
        username
= <fs_ba_log>-uname
        cache_results
= 'X'

IMPORTING
        logondata
= ls_logondata

TABLES

return        = lt_return.

IF ls_logondata-ustyp = 'A'.            "dialog user
      <fs_ba_log>
-uname = 'SAP dialog'.

    ENDIF.

  ENDLOOP.

ENDMETHOD.

The result in the process monitor looks like this:

dialog_user_log.png

Example 2:

In the second example you may want to replace the user ID with the user’s org unit (ORGEH). A basic understanding of the
organizational management is very helpful here. If you want to implement this, it will be even more helpful if you understand how organizational management, which is a very flexible tool, is implemented in your organization.

The code for this can be found as a sample implementation IM_POC_MAIN_BA_LOG_SAMPLE of the BAdI definition POC_MAIN_BA_LOG
in class CL_POC_BA_LOG_SAMPLE2. This implementation is an example. It is based on the assumption that the current user is assigned to a position, object type S, which is assigned to an organization unit, object type O, or that the user is directly assigned to an organizational unit. This may or may not be true for your configuration and the first or “lowest” organizational unit to which the user is assigned may not be the organizational unit that you want in the log. Thus the example implementation is an example that should help you to implement
your requirement, but you need to do this very carefully to adjust to your requirements. Also, please consider that these operations can be quite time-consuming, so while there is a lot of buffering implemented, you need to look at the runtime.

The result in the process monitor looks like this:

org_logging.png

You can see that the user name is replaced with the name of the organizational unit– ‘AK Company’

We hope that this little introduction gives you some more ideas on what manipulations you can do to the data logged by process observer. It is also possible to extend the log tables with customer fields and fill them in the given Enrichment of Task Log DataBAdI or even to write data into your own custom tables in the execution of the BAdI. This may be the subject of a new blog posting. However, just a warning here:  Whenever you create a BAdI implementation, be aware that your code can seriously influence the logging (and therefore the system) performance. So always be careful of what you are doing!

Stay tuned for the next episode!

Timeout error on Process start

$

Hi,

we're using Netweaver 7.3 and we made a new BPM process.

Our problem is that when we call the webservice to start a new process instance, the instance is correctly created but the webservice "hangs" (i.e. does not give a response) until the timeout is reached (e.g. 60 seconds).

Can someone help me to troubleshoot that? What could I check to understand the cause of the problem?

Thank you,

Pietro

For Each property in Netweaver BPM

Hi All,

We are creating a BPM in PI7.31 single stack EHP1, such that it splits one message in to Multiple messages we face issues in the send activity.

Steps Followed:

1. Created Interface Mapping in ESR with the required mappings with 1:M scenario.

2. Imported the Operation Mapping from the ESR in to ProcessModeling(NWDS)

3. Created Automated Activity and assigned Operation Mapping which provides multiple messages to the next activity.

4. Set the property of the next Send Activity, as Par For Each

When we test the scenario in runtime, the mapping step executes fine.

The 4th Step that is the Send Activity executes according to the number of messages, but the output of the message contains only the content of the first message for all the messages.

Eg: If there are 4 outcomes of this mapping, all the four message contains the first message content.

Please suggest the steps to make it work.

Thanks,

Haripriya.

Java Server0 stopped with the error -1501 ( Some of the managers fail to start)

Hi,

I have CE 7.3 system with EP and EPCore components also installed on the JAVA stack.

We were in process of deploying Biller Direct 6.05 on the portal.

We have successfully deployed the component SAPCRMDIC04_2-20008148.sca on CE3 system.

But for the deployment of FSCMBD09_0-20005434.sca we are getting error in the deployment stating:

Possible reason:
An AS Java service, which is providing a container and is required for deployment, is stopped or not deployed.

Hint:

Contact the owners of application sap.com/fscm~bd~umeadmin to point you to
the containers that need to be available and started on the system for successful deployment.

I was successfully able to deploy UMEADMIN, as the same was mentioned in the above error.

I checked note:

1379351 - Required SCA file for Biller Direct 6.04:- where it stated the below components are required for successfull Biller direct deployment:

SAP-JEE (Not Deployed)

SAP-SHRJAV (Not Deployed)

SAP-SHRWEB (Not Deployed)

SAP_JTECHS(Not Deployed)

STRUTS (Not Deployed)

UMEADMIN (Successfully deployed)

After reading the note I went ahead and planned for the deployment of the mentioned pending components.

JSPM went in the phase " restarting AS JAVA" but later threw an status that the JSPM could not restart JAVA and the components were in "NOT DEPLOYED" state.

the error in std_server0.out states as below:

"

After lot of search on SCN found a link: http://scn.sap.com/thread/1559398. But the suggestion did not help.

I have deployed: webservice.sda, ENGINEAPI07P_4-20007071.SCA and SERVERCORE07P_7-20007148.SCA successfully.

Also checked the notes/ KBAs: 1628335 - J2EE System fails with exitcode -1501, KBA:1840741 ( it does not show any joinport

Now the server0 is down with the exit code: -1501 (Some of the managers fail to start)

Options for BPM on the Cloud

$

Hello

Wondering if I can get some input on the below .. been trying to dredge trough the SDN content ..

Requirement

I want to develop a Human Centric BPM and host it on the SAP Cloud and am looking for the best option to do so.

Questions

-      - Maybe a very broad question but, which technology is more suitable for developing a BPM in ? .. PO Cloud or Hana Cloud platform ?

    PO

    http://www54.sap.com/pc/tech/business-process-management/software/process-orchestration/index.html

    Hana Cloud:

    http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/cloud-platform

Not sure if there are typical use cases for either or both platforms.

-       - Assuming PO on the cloud uses a Web Based development tool. What UI technology can it use ? . WDJ ? SAPUI5 ? or both.  Does the Cloud version of      BPM provide all the features available in NWDS ?.

-       - Can I deploy WDJ + BPM applications developed on SAP NWDS 7.3. to the cloud ?.

-       - The last version of CE 7.3, In future releases i.e. NW 7.4 will PO + Portal implementations remove the need for CE ?, where BPM’s, either human centric or  application centric (PI scenarios) developed can be deployed on the Portal / Java AS and there is no need for a separate CE installation.

Feedback for one or many questions appreciated ...

Hello at all,

i wouldt like to inform you, that i finished the tutorial "Getting started with Composite Designer"

in NetWeaver Developer Studio.

Now i try to develop the product on the server, but i get some error messages.

One of these is:

DC emplserv/bl/caf/metadata does not contain any archives for deployment

Couldt anyone help me? Or has anyone an idea what the problem is?

Many thanks!

Alex

problem with parallel for each loop

I have a looping  of parallel for each.

I want to know how many loop instances completed,

because when the last instance I have to do something else.

Problem is all task instance is parallel,  so I get data from input DataObject, all the same is initial.

But the context of process instance is changed.

So how to get numberOfCompletedIterations ?

Thank you very much.
