Identify Actual owner for a task in NWDS 7.2

i have a scenario where there is a non critical escalation for a human activity.

when the escalation occurs there is a notification task sent to the owner of the human activity.

i need to assign the notification task to the actual owner of the human activity, not the potential owner.

Please assist me in this regard.
